LOCTITE 638

A maximum-strength, fast-curing green acrylic/urethane methacrylate retaining compound designed to fill diametral gaps up to 0.25 mm (0.010 inches). Formulated as a UV-fluorescent liquid with high viscosity (2,000 to 3,000 mPa·s), it achieves fixture in 4 to 5 minutes and cures fully within 24 hours at room temperature, delivering a shear strength of 4,500 psi on steel. Operates across -55°C to 180°C (-65°F to 355°F) with high tolerance to minor surface oil contamination on active and passive metals.

Applications

High-strength structural bonding of cylindrical fitting parts (e.g., stainless steel components).
