WD-40

A versatile maintenance solution functioning primarily as a water displacer, fast-acting penetrant, light lubricant, and corrosion inhibitor. Formulated with low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbons (45–50%), petroleum base oils (~35%), and a CO2 propellant, it penetrates rust-bound fasteners, provides temporary lubrication, and coats metal surfaces to guard against atmospheric corrosion (viscosity 2.5–2.8 cSt at 40°C).

Applications

Displacing moisture, unfreezing rusted fasteners, temporary lubrication, and atmospheric corrosion prevention in industrial, commercial, and defense applications.
